Biography

Dr. Hsueh-Hsing Pan, RN, PhD, is a prominent figure in nursing, currently serving as Professor, Dean, and Director at the College of Nursing, National Defense Medical University (NDMU) in Taipei, Taiwan. Her notable career encompasses significant contributions to nursing education, oncology, and palliative care through various leadership roles, extensive research, and numerous publications.

Dr. Pan began her academic journey at NDMC, earning her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Nursing, followed by a PhD from the Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). She started as an Assistant Professor in 2013, advancing to Associate Professor, and was appointed as a full Professor before becoming Dean of the School of Nursing.

Her professional career in nursing practice includes critical roles at Tri-Service General Hospital, starting as a Nurse in the Hematology/Oncology unit and progressing to Head Nurse of Hematology Oncology and Palliative Care Units, Nursing Supervisor, and Deputy Director. Since 2016, she has served as a Nursing Consultant at the same hospital.

Dr. Pan's leadership extends to her role as Director and Chairperson of the Youth Nurse Members Committee at the Taiwan Nurses Association since January 2024. She is also actively involved with Sigma Theta Tau International, the Taiwan Union of Nurses Association, and the Taiwan Oncology Nursing Society.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Pan’s work spans oncology, palliative care, nursing education, and mental health. Her research, published in high-impact journals, has significantly advanced nursing practices and patient outcomes. Her accolades include the Taiwan Outstanding Nursing Award for Professional Contribution (2024) and the Excellent in Nurse Leader award from the Taiwan Oncology Nursing Society (2022).

Additionally, Dr. Pan serves as a reviewer for several prestigious international journals, contributing to the global advancement of nursing knowledge.
