The association is an active and multidisciplinary community working close to its members, which promotes the conditions for high-quality and meaningful work in the long-term together with the employer and its partners.
HHO ry actively organises a wide range of activities. The activities combine the promotion of interests and working together in various ways.

The members of the Teachers' Association also influence in many ways in institutions of the Haaga-Helia UAS. The association has its own representatives under the OAJ.
The association does not collect its own membership fee from its members.
As a member of the HHO ry you belong to the OAJ through the SKO.

The trade Union of Education in Finland, OAJ ry, is the largest and most influential trade union in educational sector. Anyone working in education, regardless their job description, are welcome to join the OAJ ry. The OAJ ry negotiates collective agreements with the YTN and Sivista, offers promotion of interests and a wide range of membership benefits.

The FInnish Association of Higher and Secondary Education Teachers SKO ry is the national association of the OAJ.
SKO offers events and training to its members. Once you join the OAJ, you also join the SKO.
PKS and OAO
PKS and OAO
HHO ry is also a member of The Regional Association of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area ry, in which we are mainly represented by the Vocational Teachers ry aka OAO-division. These associations provide activities and recreation for their members.
This association serves teachers at all education levels which comprises a large target group. So meetings often concentrate on issues not topical for uas teachers.
Still there are plenty of events and they are often filled up quickly.

Dual membership
Dual membership
You can be a dual member of two different trade unions without having to pay two full membership fees. This way you can benefit from the advantages and services offered by both.
The OAJ has agreements with The Business School Graduates in Finland (Suomen Ekonomit) and The Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland (TEK).
Your primary trade union as an employee of Haaga-Helia UAS is the OAJ, as it attends to the representation of your sector.
