Between Stars was my debut novel. It begins with a woman waking alone on a damaged spacecraft with no memory of who she is, how she got there, or what happened to the crew.
Her only companion is the ship's AI. She is not sure she can trust it. She is not even sure she can trust herself.
As she works to repair the ship and find answers, the truth she uncovers is more unsettling than the silence that surrounds her.
A psychological sci-fi thriller about identity, fear and the truths we bury deepest. Space is the backdrop. The story is deeply human.
Four endings. One question. Who is she really.
Available in paperback, ebook and on Kindle Unlimited.
A few of my reviews.
"Though it unfolds in a sci-fi setting, the heart of the story is deeply human. Gripping storytelling, richly crafted characters. I would wholeheartedly recommend." ★★★★★
"It was like watching a movie in my head. You don't realise what the author has going on until much later and then you say to yourself, ah damn, of course. Read it." ★★★★★
"A deep novel delving into the human condition. Nuanced and existential. Its beautiful prose is a delight to read. So glad I found H.G. Dawson." ★★★★★
