The Health-Family-Labor Economics Research Team investigates the complex interplay between health, family, and economic activities. We are particularly interested in the issues faced by disadvantaged populations in Korea.
To achieve this, we employ rigorous causal inference methods and analyze extensive population-level administrative datasets, primarily from the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) and the Social Security Information Service (SSIS).
Our research aims to produce evidence-based insights that inform policy decisions and enhance health and economic well-being, especially for vulnerable groups in society.
We examine causal relationships between health and economic activities.
We evaluate the impacts of key social policies such as social security programs and the public-sector relocation policy in Korea.
We examine the dynamics between occupational engagement, physical/mental health, and caregiving responsibilities in households impacted by disability.
