The AC-TG draws international members from educational institutions, government agencies and laboratories, military branches, and various consulting, manufacturing, and contracting firms. We provide an integrated forum within HFES to support the growing interest in Augmented Cognition across disciplines, including human-systems integration, neurobiology, neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, mathematics, robotics, and computer science and engineering.
The AC-TG is dedicated to providing interactive venues for researchers, scientists, engineers, and practitioners to exchange information and present research results concerning the neurological, perceptual, and cognitive aspects of Augmented Cognition. Through this exchange, we address human factors/ergonomics R&D challenges and develop diverse applications, from academic research to industrial and military systems to everyday computing and entertainment.
The AC-TG offers a variety of functions and services, including:
Sponsoring technical paper sessions, symposia, and poster sessions on Augmented Cognition at the HFES Annual Meeting.
Providing outreach opportunities via collaborations with other relevant TGs and at international human factors-related meetings.
Recognizing outstanding leadership in the field with the annual Leland S. Kollmorgen Spirit of Innovation Award.
Members receive the AC-TG Newsletter and have access to the AC-TG website and Internet List Server for news, research highlights, discussions, and general announcements.
It is not necessary to be an HFES member to join the AC-TG. Additional membership information can be found on the HFES Website.
