Are you looking for your Sacrament records? Need to know how to obtain a copy?
Did you or your child receive a Sacrament at Ramstein or Vogelweh?
We do not keep records at the chapel. Unlike records at civilian churches where parishes keep the records, all of our records are input to the AMS for the official records. All military chapel records worldwide are kept in Washington D.C. by the Archdiocese of Military Services.
You can request your official record by following the link below. You do not have to be active duty to request records, anyone with a record there can request them. Input all the information you can and send in your request. It can take many weeks to receive your record, so plan accordingly if you need them!
I have a signed certificate I was given from the chapel, isn't that good enough?
Yes, and no. It is a keepsake for your family and to have as a way to show proof of a sacrament if needed. But if it's a military chapel, it is not the official record. The official record is the one you receive from the Archdiocese that includes your unique record number. If you receive any future Sacraments you will need the official record. We need the official record with the record number because that is how we have to input your sacraments into the system so they are kept track of.
How do I get my record if myself or my child received a Sacrament at a civilian church?
You would need to contact the church where the Sacrament was performed or the Archdiocese that church falls under. You can call the church office to inquire about your record, or visit their website, many now have the information on there on how to request records.
Can’t the Ramstein Priests/Coordinator/Chapel get me the record? Or can you help me?
Requesting your records is your responsibility. If you need guidance or instructions we can assist, but you have to request the record. We have no way to put a rush on it, to get the record quicker, so please request early if you need it.
