ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Welcome to the Hospitality and Tourism program at Heydon Park, where students in the life skills and technology courses work to create a mouthwatering lunch and snacks menu every day. Students learn essential life skills using industry grade equipment, and for our students who are working to improve fine-motor skills, we have specialized kitchen equipment to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable, safe experience. The program places a strong emphasis on practical life skills development and workplace readiness. Students learn essential cooking techniques, nutrition principles, meal planning, and budgeting, enabling them to make informed choices about food and nutrition. Additionally, they acquire valuable skills in time management, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
