Cyclone was the first Hexbug robot to have an extra powerful spinner, using coins on top of a BYOB disc. It was introduced in Khaotic's 2019 video "The Ultimate Hexbug Weapon", and has remained an extremely dangerous threat in every successive competition. It was given its name shortly after by TheBotBuilder and changed to a blue chassis, and would then fight and beat Blindside in the first main event of Robot Khaos Season 1. It would then go 3-0 in the regular season, and go into the bracket as the number 1 seed. It reached the final before finally losing to Snowblind.
In future seasons it was never quite able to match its rookie success, never again making it past the first round of the tournament. However, it would produce several iconic fights, including a rematch with Snowblind,Â
In recent seasons it made a revival, beating 5 robots straight including both Atomic Green and Loki to get the longest streak in Khaotic's first King of the Hill competition. It also went 3-1 in Robot Khaos Season 7, even ripping Hypershock's wheel off in a massive hit. However, its old rival Blindside would knock it out of the tournament once again in the very first round.
Because of its simplicity and success, Cyclone has inspired many similar robots, including Living Murphy's Law's Lightning, Oof Robotics' Whirlpool, Team Penny's Versetti, Icebreaker Robotics' Raindrop, and Explosive Robotics' Upgraded Warhead.
