Herts GOC's planning chart is a live feed. The window below shows a sample of it; for use a full screen, use the link to the left.

Herts GOC walk area

Herts GOC typically starts walking events that sit within the following area (map).

The map applies the general rule of thumb, that the start point must be no more than 60 minutes travel (by car) from the middle of Herts (near Shaw's Corner, Ayot St Lawrence). The area is surprisingly vast, stretching from Gerrards Cross, to Milton Keynes, nearly to Northampton, to Huntingdon, to Cambridge, to Chelmsford and even as far south-east as to Tilbury. The measurement was taken from Google Maps on a Saturday afternoon, and likely assumes no congestion on the roads.
