Our Mission
Every Girl Deserves to Learn
Her Story Her Future is a ratified student society at Dalhousie University with one mission statement: every girl deserves the opportunity to learn. Yet today, over 120 million school-aged girls around the world remain out of school, limited by barriers including poverty, conflict, and gender inequality. Through advocacy, fundraising, and community engagement, we hope to raise awareness on campus while supporting the work of the Malala Fund in creating a world where every girl has access to education.

Change begins with awareness. A core pillar of our work is education and awareness initiatives, where we create opportunities for students to learn more about global barriers to girls’ education, the work of the Malala Fund, and the many ways individuals can get involved in supporting educational equity around the world.

As official supporters of the Malala Fund, we organize fundraisers such as book drives, bake sales, and campus initiatives that raise proceeds directly for the Malala Fund, helping support their work to expand access to education for girls across more than six partner countries.

Community
Education is not only something we advocate for globally, but something we strive to promote within our own community. Beyond fundraising, we host workshops and local initiatives that support learning, empowerment, and accessibility while creating educational opportunities for women, students, and newcomers here in Halifax.
