Our first-ever French Macarons came out of the oven in the summer of 2020. They were perfectly a disaster. 

Being a lifetime baker, I have a long-running tradition of making cakes for everyone for their birthday. I was determined to perfect these little meringue-based nightmares of a cookie to make the cakes I gift a little extra special. 

It would take months of calibrating my oven and perfecting my meringue-to-almond flour ratio to get the picture-perfect French Macaron. The science involved in these small bites fulfills my inner engineer each time! The joy these cookies brought friends and family inspired me to share that joy with others. Elegant and delicious, these cookies have a knack for making people feel pretty special. 

The following summer in 2021, I would launch Herrera Confections and Creations as a fully certified and licensed home kitchen bakery where I am dedicated to making things in small batches with the finest ingredients I can find. I have expanded to more than macarons, but these sweet treats all have something in common. They are made fresh, from scratch, perfectly delicious for someone special in your life.
