Eldzi Cho Nun - January - Time of the big moon
Llheidli Village on the banks of the Lhtakoh
To incorporate indigenous knowledge and ways of being into our daily lives. One of our practices includes using Dakelh language daily in our school and classroom.
The circle practice is being used more and more in the classroom environments as it is a way to make sure all students are seen and heard. The circle is a safe space where everyone has a chance to speak. We are all equals in the circle, no one is better or worse here.
Land based education teaches us that land is not a resource. Rather, “she is a dearly beloved, revered relative who is in crisis right now.”
