About
The Heritage Family Dental Smile Run is a community-based fun run created to promote healthy physical activity and to raise funds for the Dental Outreach of Red Deer Program - which serves as a free dental clinic for underprivileged children in Red Deer.
100% of proceeds from this event (including entry fees, donations, and fundraising) will be donated to this important local initiative.
Course: A scenic, well-marked 5K route through the Red Deer River Valley trails. The course features gentle undulations and will be supported by course marshals stationed at key intersections for guidance and safety.
Start/Finish: Located along the riverside path just south of Canada 150 Square in Capstone.
Route Overview: The course heads east through Capstone along the river path, then turns north to cross the Red Deer River via the Taylor Drive bridge. After the crossing, runners descend into Bower Ponds and follow the south-side path of the ponds before continuing west on the North Bank Trail for approximately 1 km to reach the turnaround point.
On the return, runners retrace their steps but stay on the north side of Bower Ponds before heading back over the Taylor Drive bridge and finishing at the original Start/Finish area to complete a full 5-kilometre loop.

The primary goal of this event is to raise funds for the Red Deer Dental Outreach Program, which serves under-privileged children ages 5-18. We also aim to:
Partner with The Red Deer Regional Health Foundation to raise money for the important work of DOoR.
Bring the community together in a fun, healthy, and inclusive event.
Partner with local businesses and dental clinics to promote oral health awareness.
We hope to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of children and families in our community who might otherwise go without dental care.
