2021-2022 Reflections

I Will Change the World By...

Calling all creative minds!

The Heritage Elementary PTA is excited to launch the 2021-2022 Reflections Program! We need creative minds to reflect on the theme, "I Will Change the World By..." and create artwork in the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts 2D, Visual Arts 3D and Special Artists.

Basic Entry Guidelines

  • All entries are due by Wednesday, October 20th.

  • All entries must be submitted online. It is easier than ever before! (More information below)

  • A parent/guardian must provide permission during the online submission process.

  • Students may submit only one entry for each of the categories. (That means that one student can submit up to 7 entries.)

  • Artwork must be the ORIGINAL work of only one student. Multiple people may perform a dance or appear in a video, photo or musical composition but the creator must be one student.

  • Please be careful of any copyright infringements. Artwork that contains any trademarked or copyrighted images or references will be disqualified.

  • Artwork will be judged by professionals/individuals with experience in the relevant field.

  • The "Artist Statement" is the student's interpretation of the theme and is worth HALF of the total score. Students should spend time thinking about their Artist Statement. It should explain how their art relates to the theme of "I Will Change the World By..."

  • All students will receive an award and certificate for participating but students who are awarded a Certificate of Excellence in their category will be advanced to the next level of judging.

How to Submit Artwork Online

All entries must be submitted through the Utah PTA online Reflections system (utahpta.org/ref). This will make it possible for students to participate safely and minimize contact for students, teachers, PTA volunteers and judges.

Before October 20th, parents should visit the Utah PTA Reflections Website. A parent or guardian will need to create an account and can then upload the artwork and student information. You can submit entries for multiple students through the same online family account, no matter which grade level or school in Davis district.

How to submit artwork:

  1. Go to utahpta.org/ref

  2. Click on blue button: Submit Reflections entries

  3. Sign in or create an account: Click on the Register tab and enter your information

  4. Click on green button: +Add Entry

  5. Follow the directions and fill in the information

Consent Forms

If any person’s voice or image is included in the entry (aside from the submitting artist/student), then a Consent Form must be completed. Consent Forms can be printed and uploaded when submitting artwork entries online.

Important Dates

  • October 20 - Heritage Reflection entries due online (utahpta.org/ref)

  • November 12 - Entries that received an Award of Excellence are submitted to the Council level

  • December 3 - Entries that received an Award of Excellence at Council move on to Region

  • End of January - Region level winners announced

  • March - State level winners announced
