HerdBook — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

HerdBook ("the app", "we", "us") is a livestock record-keeping app for cattle producers. This policy explains what data we handle and how.

1. Information we collect

- Account information: if you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication identifier through Firebase Authentication (email/password or Sign in with Apple). Sign in with Apple may provide a private relay email.

2. How we use your information

- To provide the app's features and store your records.

- To sync your data across your devices when you are signed in.

- To manage your subscription and unlock Pro features.

- To improve the app's reliability and features.

3. Where your data is stored

If you use the app without an account, your records stay on your device only and are not backed up by us. If you sign in, your records are stored securely in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) so they are available on any device where you sign in. Only you (and, for support and maintenance purposes, the developer) can access your account's data.

4. Third-party services

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics) and Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions). Their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your stored data. You may also contact us to request deletion.

6. Children

HerdBook is intended for professional and adult users and is not directed to children under 13.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures provided by Google Firebase and Apple to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
