Geese and the Carbon Cycle

Do geese change the amount of carbon stored or released in an ecosystem ?

How do herbivores affect the cycling of carbon?  A team of scientists, educators, and students studied the impact of geese on the cycling of carbon.  Their research modeled how geese influence the storage or emission of carbon from tundra soils.  The resources at this site are designed for educators and students to explore our data sets using Data Nuggets (https://datanuggets.org/).  The photos and media complement the "Poop, poop goose" and "Sink or source? How grazing geese impact the carbon cycle" Data Nuggets.   Listen to students from Bethel and Chevak tell this story at https://sites.google.com/view/herbivory/media/voices-from-the-land
