Herald is a writing and feedback app. We collect only what's necessary to make the app work.
Account information
Your name and email address from Sign in with Apple (if you choose to share them)
A unique identifier from Apple to identify your account
Content you create
Drafts, comments, and feedback you write within the app
Device information
Device push notification token, to send you notifications about your drafts and comments
Usage
We do not collect analytics or track your behavior in the app
To create and maintain your account
To sync your drafts and comments across sessions
To send push notifications when collaborators comment on or publish your drafts
To allow you to find and connect with friends by username
We do not sell your data to third parties
We do not serve ads
We do not share your content with anyone except collaborators you explicitly invite
Your drafts are only visible to users you explicitly share them with. Comments are only visible to the draft author and collaborators on that draft.
Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently deletes all your drafts, comments, and account information.
Apple — used for authentication via Sign in with Apple. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — used to deliver notifications to your device.
Your data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored securely. Access to your drafts is enforced server-side — only you and your invited collaborators can access your content.
Herald is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
