Henson - Graphic 3

Due: 2/21/19

Tool used: Adobe Illustrator

For this assignment we were asked to create a logo in various formats, including printable and web versions of: color, grayscale, and black and white, as well as one 3D image. This assignment provided me the opportunity to work on a project I have been needing to do for my school. At my school, I am in charge of something called a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) which is for our school's reaccreditation. In our QEP, we are developing a course called "Virtual Backpack" which will be available for students who wish to take online courses. This course needed a logo, so this assignment allowed me to create a variety of options in Adobe Illustrator.

I used quite a few of the tools available in Illustrator, including many many layers, color swatches (to match our official brand colors), rectangles, paths, clipping masks, gradients, and many others. I started with a 4 inch x 4 inch art board for the color version, and added a gradient background, then progressively built a backpack with some "badges" pinned on the front. I then progressively removed color for the grayscale version, and then even more color for the black and white version. For the 3D version, I added a shadow cast on the text to create a 3D text, as well as a shadow (using a Gaussian blur on an ellipse) for the backpack.
