My page is currently preparing to launch!
But here is a few things to know about my story...
Born with PFFD (proximal femoral focal deficiency). This condition was unbeknownst to me or my parents until I decided to enter the world. Eventually, it was determined that I was missing my femur, fibula and a bone two near my ankle and left foot.
At the age of 5, I endured a 11+ hour (and rare) surgical procedure known as rotationplasty. Whereas, my leg was amputated and re-attached backwards! Essentially, my left heel became my knee joint.
This has NOT slowed me down. In fact, my moniker is "Super Hero Henry". I have played able body sports including ninja training, volleyball, basketball and baseball. I am currently entering my 3rd season in the NWBA (National Wheelchair Basketball Association) playing for the Cincinnati Dragons. I will also be playing for the Cincinnati Royals men's team. We have played all throughout the eastern US including in the National Finals in Wichita and Richmond. In addition to basketball, I will be wrapping up my first season playing wheelchair tennis with the Cincinnati Tennis Federation.
I am building out this site to share the rest of my story...however you can read about my early journey at superherohenry.blogspot.com!
