If you want a versatile, multi-use grip solution for your SUV's console that stays put under heat and keeps small items from sliding, choose Hemoton 5pcs; if you need a dedicated, custom-fitted sun shield specifically designed to protect the dashboard of a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro from UV damage and glare, choose Generic Car Dashboard Cover.
• Hemoton 5pcs: The biggest strength is its durable PVC construction that resists fading and cracking while providing a high-friction surface to hold phones or coins steady; the trade-off is that it is a generic mat rather than a full dashboard blanket, so it does not cover the entire dash surface from the windshield down. This pick is for owners who need a reliable anchor point on their center console or dashboard shelf.
• Generic Car Dashboard Cover: The biggest strength is its precise fit for the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro (2019-2023), offering full coverage that blocks UV rays and prevents the plastic from baking in the sun; the trade-off is that it is strictly single-model specific and offers no utility beyond protection and shade reduction. This pick is for Tiggo 8 Pro owners prioritizing long-term interior preservation over accessory versatility.
The Hemoton 5pcs kit is built around the concept of utility and friction. Its core design relies on a black PVC surface that is engineered to prevent fading and cracking even when exposed to frequent use and direct sunshine. This material choice is critical for anyone who parks their vehicle outside regularly. Unlike fabric mats that might absorb heat or degrade quickly, this PVC pad maintains its structural integrity. The dimensions are listed as roughly 7.1 by 5.1 inches per unit, which creates a substantial footprint for holding items without taking up too much valuable space on a crowded dashboard or center console.
This product shines in its ability to stop things from moving. If you drive an SUV with a large, flat area where your phone, sunglasses, or toll transponder tends to slide during turns or sudden stops, this mat provides the necessary anti-slip protection. The "sticky" nature of the non-slip backing ensures that your dashboard items stay firmly in place, reducing distractions while you are driving. You do not need to worry about complicated installation; the design allows it to simply lay on top of existing surfaces. The maintenance is equally straightforward—just wipe it clean to remove dust or spills, and it retains its anti-skid padding performance.
I would recommend this for drivers who treat their dashboard as a functional workspace. Whether you are commuting through city traffic or tackling a road trip, having a secure spot for essentials is a practical necessity. However, if you are looking for something that covers the entire expanse of your dashboard to block the sun from hitting the instrument cluster or air vents, this is not the right tool. It is a targeted solution for specific problem areas, not a comprehensive covering system. It fits most vehicles due to its universal design, making it an excellent choice for SUV owners who want a quick, effective fix without needing a custom-molded piece.

The Generic Car Dashboard Cover tells a completely different story. It is not a universal item but a highly specialized accessory made specifically for the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro models from 2019 to 2023. The primary purpose here is environmental shielding. The dashboard of any car is constantly bombarded by ultraviolet light and intense heat, which can cause the underlying plastic to warp, crack, or fade over time. This cover acts as a barrier, insulating the dashboard from heat while simultaneously shielding it from UV rays. By keeping the dashboard looking new for longer, it serves as a low-effort way to care for the vehicle's interior aesthetics.
The material used here is a matte-finish fabric, which is a deliberate choice to keep reflections low on the dashboard. A glossy or reflective surface can be dangerous because it bounces sunlight directly into the driver's eyes, creating glare that hampers visibility. This fabric option eliminates that risk while remaining color-fast and odorless during daily use. The installation process is designed for convenience; it uses a direct lay-on method that requires no tools and no adhesive. You simply place it over your existing dashboard, and it stays there securely. The package includes one dashboard cover mat with a black edge, styled to match the interior lines of the Tiggo 8 Pro.
This product is exclusively for owners of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. If you have a different make or model, this item will not fit correctly, regardless of how similar your dashboard looks. It is a secondary-market accessory, meaning it is not made by the vehicle manufacturer itself, but it is tailored to the exact contours of the Tiggo 8 Pro's layout. I suggest this for those who view their dashboard as a component that needs protection from the elements rather than a platform for holding objects. If your main concern is preventing the dashboard from becoming hot to the touch or fading in color, this is the superior choice. It transforms the look of the interior with a neat, fabric finish that feels more integrated than a plastic mat.
• Best for Universal Fit → Hemoton 5pcs works across various dashboard sizes and vehicle types, whereas the Generic cover is locked to one specific model.
• Best for Heat and UV Protection → Generic Car Dashboard Cover fully insulates the dash from sun exposure, while Hemoton only protects the small area it covers.
• Best for Holding Items Securely → Hemoton 5pcs offers a high-friction PVC surface ideal for phones and keys; the Generic cover is soft fabric designed for laying flat, not gripping heavy items.
• Best for Preventing Glare → The matte-finish fabric of the Generic cover minimizes reflections significantly better than the potentially shiny PVC of the Hemoton mat.
• Best for Easy Maintenance → Both require minimal effort, but Hemoton is wiped clean easily, while the Generic fabric requires gentle cleaning to avoid damaging the weave.
• Best for Interior Aesthetics → Generic Car Dashboard Cover provides a uniform, custom look with a black edge, enhancing the specific style of the Tiggo 8 Pro interior.
• Best for Versatility → Hemoton 5pcs can be moved between cars or repositioned within a vehicle; the Generic cover must stay in its designated spot on the Tiggo 8 Pro.
• Best for Long-Term Dash Preservation → Generic Car Dashboard Cover offers total surface coverage to prevent cracking and warping across the entire dashboard plane.
After weighing the specifications and intended functions of both products, my recommendation depends entirely on whether you prioritize utility or preservation. If you drive a Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and your primary goal is to stop the dashboard from baking in the sun and cracking over the years, the Generic Car Dashboard Cover is the clear winner. It is the only logical choice for protecting the specific geometry of that vehicle's interior. However, for the broader category of SUV owners who need a reliable, non-slip surface for their gear, the Hemoton 5pcs is the more practical investment. In my opinion, I would buy the Generic cover for my Tiggo 8 Pro to save the interior, but I would choose the Hemoton set for any other vehicle where I need a secure spot for my essentials. For SUV owners specifically, if your vehicle matches the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro profile, go with the Generic cover; otherwise, the Hemoton 5pcs is the safer bet for general utility.
