Hello !!
Welcome to my personal page
I am Hemant Kumar Prajapati. Currently, I am a research fellow under the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF) program, working with Dr. Rahul Srivastava's Particle and Cosmoparticle Physics Group at the Department of Physics in IISER Bhopal.
In 2019, I joined an Integrated Ph.D. (IPhD) program in Physics at IISER, Bhopal. Under the guidance of Dr. Rahul Srivastava, I completed my Master's degree in Physics in 2022 and worked on my thesis in the Department of High Energy Physics (HEP).
In 2018, I earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from BIT, Durg. For my thesis project, I collaborated with Dr. Shiena Shekhar to create and demonstrate a functional model of an Automatic Sorting Machine Using a Conveyor Belt.
You can know the name of a bird in all the languages of the world, but when you're finished, you'll know absolutely nothing whatever about the bird... So let's look at the bird and see what it's doing — that's what counts. I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something.

My broad area of interest and research is beyond The Standard Model physics (Phenomenological and theoretical particle physics). The Standard Model of particle physics is a magnificent framework that describes the fundamental particles and their interactions in the universe. Its beauty lies not only in its complexity and mathematical elegance but also in its ability to predict and explain a vast array of phenomena, from the behavior of everyday matter to the workings of the early universe.
You can watch three episodes of Atoms by Jim Al-Khalili for non-technical history and introduction to particle physics. If you're looking for an accessible introduction to the Standard Model that doesn't require technical expertise, I highly recommend The Standard Model: A Triumph of Science by Quanta Magazine, which is narrated by David Tong.
Despite its ability to explain most observable phenomena, there is an ever-increasing number of observations (for a non-technical overview, you can check WiKipedia ) that strongly indicate that the Standard Model can not be the final theory and it is just an effective theory in the low energy regime. Some of the problems that our group is currently interested in and working on are :
Dark Matter properties and interactions.
Various abelian/non-abelian gauged Standard Model extensions.
Baryon asymmetry.
Neutrino Physics.
Low energy processes.
Higgs Physics.
Grand Unified Theories.
Phase transition in the early universe and gravitational waves.
I will discuss these topics in the Research Tab.
Every one of us is, in the cosmic perspective, precious. If a human disagrees with you, let him live. In a hundred billion galaxies, you will not find another.
- Carl Sagan
Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained....................
Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.
