1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
The "Help Me!" app is designed to be a personal safety tool. To provide our core services, we require access to certain information and device hardware features.
A. Location Data (Including Background Location)
- Foreground Location: We access your precise location when you tap the "SOS" button to include your coordinates in the emergency SMS sent to your trusted contacts.
- Background Location: We use background location services to power the Scheduled Check-in feature. This allows the app to fetch your location and send automated alerts to your emergency contacts if you fail to check in at a designated time, even when the app is closed or not in use.
B. Camera and Microphone Data
- Camera: The app requests camera access to power safety recording features and image analysis tools (e.g., the Safety Camera).
- Microphone: We request microphone access to allow you to record audio snippets and ambient sound during safety checks or emergencies.
C. Contact Information & Phone Features
- Phone Calls: We request permission to automatically place a call to your designated primary emergency contact during an SOS event.
- SMS/Messaging: We request permission to automatically send emergency text messages to your pre-selected contacts when the SOS button is pressed or a scheduled check-in is missed.
- Contacts: You routinely input emergency contacts into the app. This data is strictly kept local to your device.
2. Local Data Storage
All data entered into the app—including your emergency contact numbers, saved locations, panic history, emergency audio recordings, and captured images—is stored securely and locally on your device. We do not harvest, upload, or store this personal data on remote servers for our own use. This data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly trigger an alert via SMS or call.
3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
For users who upgrade to the "Pro" version, financial transactions are handled securely through the Google Play Store and third-party revenue management services. We do not directly collect, store, or process your credit card or billing information. Access to your transaction history is used strictly to grant you access to premium features.
4. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to facilitate our app's functionality (e.g., Google Play Services for location and billing). These third parties have their own Privacy Policies dictating how they handle the data they receive.

5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Because the majority of your personal information (contacts, history, media) is stored locally on your device, you have full and direct control over it. You can delete all your user data at any time by:
- Clearing the app's cache and data within your device's System Settings.
- Uninstalling the "Help Me!" app, which automatically removes all locally stored information.
If you have an active Pro subscription, you must manage or cancel it through your respective Google Play Store account settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new app features or changes in legal requirements. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
