Meet Our Founder

Tricia Harris
President & Founder, Helping Hands of the Heart, Inc.

Tricia Harris is a longtime Highland Village resident in North Miami Beach who has dedicated many years to community service, civic involvement, and uplifting local families. In 2025, she became the President & Founder of Helping Hands of the Heart, Inc., a Florida nonprofit organization with approved 501(c)(3) status, building on community outreach she began in 2013.

Tricia has proudly served the City of North Miami Beach in multiple leadership and advisory roles, including:

• Commission on the Status of Women – Chairwoman

• Library Board – Chairwoman

• Commission on Aging – Co-Chairwoman

• Multicultural Committee – Member

• Education Board – Former Member

• Census Board – Former Member
  
  

As a caring Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA), Tricia is passionate about helping seniors and families in need. She has assisted elderly neighbors with Meals on Wheels enrollment, picking up prescriptions and groceries, and connecting them to essential services. She has also helped residents access city programs such as the Care Program through the Water Division, and submit requests for tree trimming through Florida Power & Light, pothole repairs, flooding and drainage issues, streetlight maintenance, and new park equipment.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tricia picked up meals from Joshua’s Heart Foundation, brought them to her home, and personally distributed them throughout the community so local children could receive at least one meal a day during the crisis.

As a triple-negative breast cancer survivor and breast cancer awareness advocate since 2013, Tricia has participated in Relay for Life (as a team captain) and the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, sharing her story at community events to encourage hope, education, and early detection.

Her dedication has been recognized with several honors, including the Key to the City of North Miami Beach, a Citizen Award, and the Woman of the Year Award.

Through her leadership, compassion, and resilience, Tricia continues to be a powerful voice for service, empowerment, and hope in the North Miami Beach community.
