I chose this initiative because the ICRF was set up to provide relief to the mammoth humanitarian crisis that unfolded when the pandemic first began and has been successfully raising funds for the most pressing needs caused by the present situation. Their Steering Committee and 16-member Advisory Board provide complete transparency in their mission to donate oxygen cylinders to charitable hospitals and COVID care centers, and protect healthcare workers by providing N-95 masks, PPE kits, bed sheets, and hand sanitizers. They also provide meals and ration kits to communities that are struggling to make ends meet.

I chose this effort because most of my family are from Tamil Nadu making it very personal for me. This fund provides financial assistance to anyone in distress in the State of Tamil Nadu.
