We are dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality computer education, tutorials, video lectures, notes, and interactive quizzes in multiple Indian languages (Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu, and English).

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy outlines how our application operates, what information is processed, and how your privacy is safeguarded in full compliance with the Google Play Developer Program Policies and Google Play Data Safety Guidelines.

By installing and using Hello Computer (the "App"), you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. NO ACCOUNT CREATION REQUIRED (100% LOCAL / OFFLINE PROFILE)

- No Server Account Registration: Our App does NOT require you to create an online user account, register with a password, or store personal credentials on our cloud servers.

- On-Device Storage Only: Any profile setup you perform inside the App (such as entering your name, selecting an avatar, choosing your preferred learning language, tracking XP points, streaks, badges, quiz scores, bookmarks, or downloaded PDF notes) is stored strictly locally on your device's isolated internal storage.

- No Server-Side Profile Collection: We do not upload or store your personal identity profile on our remote servers.

3. INFORMATION WE PROCESS

To deliver app functionalities, video lessons, and notifications, the App processes the following:

A. Information Stored Locally on Your Device:

- User Profile and Learning Progress: Your name, selected avatar, preferred language, XP points, study streaks, achievement badges, and learning history.

- Study Materials and Bookmarks: Offline downloaded PDF notes and bookmarked questions.

(All of this data remains solely on your physical device and is never shared or sold).

B. Automatically Collected Technical and Diagnostic Data:

- Device Information: Device model, Android OS version, screen resolution, and network state (used to optimize layout and video streaming).

- FCM Registration Token: A unique Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push token generated automatically by Google Play Services to deliver daily study reminders and quiz notifications.

- Anonymous Diagnostics: Crash logs and performance diagnostics to help us troubleshoot technical glitches and improve app stability.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We process data solely for legitimate educational and application functionality purposes:

1. Delivering Educational Content: Displaying computer tutorials, notes, and quizzes customized to your selected language.

2. Gamification and Progress: Calculating your quiz scores, learning streaks, and XP points locally on your device.

3. Study Reminders: Sending daily quiz alerts, study notifications, and educational updates via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

4. App Maintenance and Quality: Identifying crashes, fixing bugs, and improving app performance.

5. Advertisements: Serving non-intrusive, relevant advertisements via Google AdMob to keep our educational courses 100% free for all students.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND SDKS

The App utilizes trusted industry-standard SDKs provided by Google:

- Google Play Services: Provides fundamental Android operating system libraries (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

- Firebase Cloud Messaging - FCM (Google LLC): Used to deliver push notifications and daily quiz reminders (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).

- Google AdMob (Google LLC): Used to display banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads in compliance with Google Play Ads policies (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads).

- YouTube Android Player SDK / Embed: Used to stream educational video tutorials directly from YouTube in compliance with YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms).

6. ANDROID PERMISSIONS REQUESTED

We only request standard permissions necessary for the App to function:

- android.permission.INTERNET: Required to stream educational video lessons, fetch course materials, and load cloud quizzes.

- android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: (Android 13+) Used to deliver daily quiz alerts and study reminders. Users can turn notifications off at any time in device settings.

- android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC: Used to ensure smooth synchronization of offline study notes and scheduled study reminder alerts.

- android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Used temporarily to ensure scheduled daily study reminders trigger on time.

7. DATA STORAGE, RETENTION, AND INSTANT DATA DELETION

Because our application does not maintain cloud user accounts:

- Instant Data Deletion by User: You have complete control over your data at all times. You can erase 100% of your data instantly by:

  1. Clearing App Data: Go to your device Settings > Apps > Hello Computer > Storage & Cache > Clear Storage / Clear Data.

  2. Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling Hello Computer permanently deletes all local files, profile details, scores, and offline study materials from your device.

- No Residual Cloud Data: Since we do not maintain a cloud database of your personal profile, no residual personal information remains on our servers after you clear data or uninstall the App.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA & GOOGLE PLAY FAMILIES POLICY)

- Hello Computer is an educational learning app suitable for students and learners of all age groups.

- We do NOT require personal accounts, and we do NOT knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

9. DATA SECURITY

- All online communications (fetching course lessons, video streams, and notifications) utilize secure industry-standard encryption protocols (HTTPS / TLS 1.3).

- We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize any user data.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect any changes in our application or legal/Google Play requirements. The updated date will always be reflected at the top of this document.
