If your switch works but not accurate, calibration can solve the problem. (Astral VX Chlorinator no flow)
Flat screwdriver
Pressure Gauge (if the system does not already have one)
Safety Gloves and Basic Security
Close the power to avoid electrical shock.
Find two adjustment springs inside the switch:
The wide spring controls the cut-in and cut-out range.
Small spring fine-tunes differential.
Tighten the wide spring to increase the pressure settings, or OO to reduce it.
Carefully adjust the small spring to fine-tune the Cycle Ficine.
Test by running system and monitoring pressure changes. Continue adjusting until the pump starts and hangs on the desired layers.
Calibration and cleaning switches can expand the life, but replacement is required if you take note:
Burned or broken contacts
Severe corrosion or corrosion
Frequent failure to start/close despite adjustments
Age (most switches exit after using years)
Replacement is usually faster and cost effective compared to improving other pump parts.
Regularly clean contacts and terminals.
Inspect the pressure tank to avoid unnecessary cycling.
Protect the switch with moisture and dust.
Call a professional if you are inaccurate about electrical work.
Use a pressure gauge to measure the pressure of the system when the pump is turned on and closed. If the pressure does not change, or always reads zero, the switch can be defective.
Close the power and remove the switch cover. See for:
Tuberculosis
Burned contacts
Sulfated or dirty terminals
Any of these signs indicate that the switch is failing.
Loose wires, incorrect contacts or damaged terminals can cause defects. Make sure all connections are tight and clean.
Some switches allow you to push a small spring from a flat screwdriver. If the pump starts this way, the switch is responding but it may require a re -procurement.
When the pressure reaches the best level, the switch cuts the power and stops the pump.
This automatic cycle continues easily without your system manual control. If the switch fails, there may be a pump as well:
Never Start,
Runs the uninterrupted, or
Turn on and continuously. (VX Chlorinator troubleshooting)
