There is not required homework for third grade students in my classroom. I highly recommend that students participate in 20 minutes of nightly reading, but there is no consequence if students are not successful with this goal. 

An optional spelling worksheet will come home every week in your child's Friday Folder. While it is optional, it offers great practice for the week's spelling skill/rule! 

If students do not complete their weekly work in math or reading, there is a chance that a student may have homework, but that will be communicated directly by your child's math or reading teacher.
