This simulator includes a warranty against defects in material and workmanship that starts on the day you take delivery of your new simulator and ends one year later. Basically, if something broke because we didn't built it correctly, we'll fix it or send you a replacement. This doesn't cover normal wear and tear, modification, acts of nature, or other stuff that's out of our control.

Insight integrates with the Redbird line of flight simulators to render the outside view of the aircraft, a live video feed from the inside view of the cockpit and cockpit instrumentation onto an external display. Key aspects of the flight can be immediately reviewed on the Insight screen after a flight is completed by using DVR-like controls on the Insight viewing station.

Corvus connects your Redbird simulator to ForeFlight (more EFB connections are in the works) by providing data akin to an ADS-B receiver. In addition to representing own-ship position of simulated aircraft, Corvus also broadcasts attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS) information as well as Traffic Information Services-Broadcast (TIS-B) data. Select Flight Information Services-Broadcast (FIS-B) functionality, such as weather and airspace information, are currently in development and will be available in future updates.

Before the BAT made its way to Camp Dodge in November, Iowa pilots had to travel to Camp Ripley, Minnesota; Fort Riley, Kansas; or Camp Grayling, Michigan, to fulfill their simulator requirements. Based on the distance of these training facilities, pilots were limited to only six hours annually.

Ultimately, the bottom line for the BAT is dollars. Vanlengen said the $9 million simulator is much more cost-effective for regular training than a $17 million Black Hawk, which costs around $4,500 per flight hour in fuel and upkeep. From conception to operation, he said, the BAT has proven to be a cost-saving venture.

nice job so far, it looks really good and plays well on my 2.3ghz dualcore. you have chosen a really hard job. a helicoptersim is one of the most difficult things to program when it comes to physics. normaly you cannot do this without a real 6dof concept. and it is near to impossible to steer a helicopter with digital equipment like a keyboard, because you need the slightest corrections to keep the thing airborne. but for the first step i can say, what you have build is very impressive.

for the future i think it is better to parent the camera behind the heli, because you need bot hands to fly. and a last thing to mention: when a helicopter lowers his nose, it dives if you dont change the angle of the rotorblades to get more upforce.

Lets me share my new version of open source game called ( BGE realistic helicopter simulator game )

I made it for everyone and want to share it because I never seen about BGE finished game:(.

You can use this in your are projet. And script are easy to understand. Easy to understand some about shortcut for making game easy in BGE.

Looks very good.

Where are the arms in firstperson view?I noticed when i cut the helicopter engine. And the helicopter sinks into the water. The helicopter starts flying sideways. Can you land on the carrier?

The helicopter features some of the most advanced medical equipment with authentic aerial views projected within the windows and movement that mimics changing altitudes and weather conditions throughout the flight.

Here is my design of a really easy build helicopter collective. Free for all to download, print and build.

There is no attempt to mimic any real head as the focus is on many controls particularly for VR users.

The schematic diagram has been posted on thingiverse.

Hey everybody, I'm a small time hobbyist that has been wanting to play a old-school helicopter simulator for a long time, but has been frustrated by the fact that games are either super-detailed hardcore sims, or the fun helicopter bit is only part of a larger game (like GTA or ARMA). Does anybody remember SimCopter from back in the day? It was pure "start flying, have fun" and I have been wanting to recapture that feeling in a personal project using Unity.

"Hover Mode" - a state that can be triggered with a button press, which brings the helicopter into a stable hover, and changes the inputs so the player can move up/down/left/right/forward/back slowly and smoothly. Think of pinnacle landings, letting out a rope, etc.

Can ANYBODY tell me, how to play in helicopter simulator battles againts AA? I alredy died 20 times in one battle, 10 of that was with out any kill, because AA shot me down 5km away, so my tzefa A (AH-1G) is unplyeble, because this mode is broken, I lost 200k sl, it is much for me, when I have only 600k sl

Maj. Mitchell Clapp, 316th Operations Support Squadron assistant director of operations, monitors a training mission on the virtual-reality helicopter flight simulator system at Joint Base Andrews, Md., Oct. 25, 2022. Clapp is the architect of the VR system that uses commercial flight simulator software for UH-1N Huey training missions at the 1st Helicopter Squadron. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Tyrone Thomas)

The scenario was a routine 30-minute mission in late October where Mull was shadowing the lead Huey taking off from Andrews and navigating through a series of checkpoints before returning to base. However, nobody was actually in the lead helicopter, and Mull never left the ground the entire time.

Instead of a real helicopter, Mull had donned a virtual reality headset and was piloting a UH-1N in a flight simulator assembled by the 316th Operations Support Squadron to support the 1st HS mission. The VR simulator was assembled after the regular simulator was sent off for repairs, and everything including the software, desktop computer, monitor, seat, VR headset and flight controls was purchased commercially, but pilots have tweaked the components to customize the simulator as their own.

The simulator Mull was piloting is one of seven VR stations setup in the 1st HS headquarters building. They utilize X-Plane flight simulator software, and linking the stations together allows pilots to train as they fly in multi-ship formations.

The X-Plane computer program has a library of elements such as buildings and trees that can be added to the simulator landscape, and Clapp said they used another 3D modeling software program to make objects from scratch to ensure detail and accuracy on important navigation points.

In addition to training over the NCR, the VR simulator is also ideal for familiarization if pilots are called to fly out of the area, Clapp said. From regular missions to community engagement events like flyovers and static display requests, pilots can pre-fly the route before leaving the ground.

Repair on the old simulator has been completed; it returned to service at Joint Base Andrews a few months ago and still has some advantages. It has been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Air Force District of Washington, so pilots can log real flight hours. Since it is modeled after a Huey cockpit, it physically looks like the real thing with gauges and switches, and it has two seats for the pilot and co-pilot (or pilot and trainer) sitting next to each other.

The old simulator is also supported by a contractor on-site for routine maintenance and updates. With Clapp as the lead on the VR system, someone would have to take over when he receives permanent change of station orders, which he estimates will be in July. Another possibility is hiring a civilian for continuity.

The helicopter will feature some of the most advanced medical equipment with authentic aerial views projected within the windows and movement that mimics changing altitudes and weather conditions throughout the flight.

The helicopter simulator is one of only two in the world dedicated to training health care professionals, according to Celeste Alfes, DNP, MSN, RN, assistant professor and director of the Learning Resource Center at the school of nursing. The other is in Germany.

The 800-pound capacity allows students to be trained with the same health-care equipment used in actual critical care transport helicopters. The simulator is an exact replica of what the students will eventually fly in while treating patients later in their studies. The fuselage will be equipped with mock laser rotors, developed by Case Western Reserve biomedical engineering majors, so students and their patients can learn to safely enter and exit the helicopter.

ACNP student flight nurses currently are educated and trained on high fidelity patient simulators programmed with vital signs and symptoms that allow students to practice advanced procedures similar to those of an actual patient. Students also attend additional flight nursing educational offerings to learn skills such as loading and unloading patients from an operating helicopter and communicating in the air medical environment. Their advanced training also involves working alongside leading critical care transport programs locally.

The $5,000 fuselage was purchased from H. P. Aviation, a helicopter graveyard in Oldsmar, Fla. The EMS interior, which coincidentally turned out to be part of a retired MetroHealth Medical Center life flight helicopter, was acquired from Arrow Aviation in Lafayette, La., for $10,000. ff782bc1db
