The Shield Mare is meant to be the maternal and spiritual leader of the herd. She embodies the compassion of Hymn and Sanctuary itself.

These stoic guardians protect those who need it most. While not technically warriors, it is within their duty to ward off enemies and keep the herd safe. Violence is a last resort.

These Guardians are waymakers, pathfinders, and map holders. Their job is to assure the herd traverses mountains, rivers, and valleys across the portals with minimal complications.
