But Havana has a problem. Due to the US embargo, the same cars have been driving through the streets for more than 60 years as they did during Batista's time. While Havana's vintage cars have become a real tourist attraction, the exhaust fumes these cars emit are, quite literally, "breathtaking." Also breathtaking is the fact that tourist demand for rides in these vintage cars has turned Havana, along with some African cities, into the city with the highest levels of nitrogen pollution in the world.
