Clubs I've joined
UNICEF stands for United Nations International's Children's Emergency Fund. For the past year, I've been a club member the goal of the group is to fundraise and educate the community about the unfortunate situations of children around the world.
For the year I have been a member of Key Club I got to experience what Key Club is about. It is a non-profit club that focuses on community service and volunteering opportunities. It is a club where people can form connections and gain leadership skills.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit club that works to improve living conditions for people in poverty. The club advocates for more affordable housing. This club also deals with volunteer opportunities that help the community like donating items to people in need.
I was a student of the Youth Leadership Program from around October 2022 - March 2023. In my time in this program, I learned plenty of valuable information. I developed more confidence in my leadership and presentation skills. I learned about educational and career opportunities. I networked with fellow high school students from the Burbank district. I got to know the city and its leaders, and I got to have a conversation with the mayor at the time, Konstantine Anthony. One of the biggest accomplishments I faced was improving my communication skills by being able to interact with so many people and having the opportunity to be taught how to talk to an audience properly.
