I am Mohammad Helal Uddin, a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Louisville and a Graduate Research Assistant at LARRI. My work lies at the intersection of data science and advanced artificial intelligence, where I focus on extracting meaningful insights from complex data and building efficient, scalable learning systems. My research emphasizes deep learning optimization, large language model compression, and vision transformers, using principled approaches such as Hessian-guided pruning and multimodal feature fusion. I aim to bridge theoretical innovation with real-world deployment, enabling data-driven solutions for resource-constrained systems like autonomous vehicles and robotics.
Before starting my Ph.D., I earned my M.S. in Electronic Engineering from Kwangwoon University, South Korea, where I worked on multimodal AI systems for behavioral analysis. I also hold a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from American International University-Bangladesh. In addition to my academic research, I bring over three years of industry experience as a professional software engineer, developing data-driven systems and scalable machine learning solutions.
Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy spending time outdoors - hiking, fishing, and playing football and cricket, which helps me stay balanced, energized, and inspired.
