How should Europe and Germany respond to the US turn away from international law under Trump?

Key points:

• The order based on int’ #law and organizations like the UN is under pressure from many sides and there is a real risk of transition into great power politics.

• Europe must publicly condemn transgressions of int’ law from all sides to defend its validity and avoid hypocrisy that harms its reputation in the Global South!

• Europe must quickly mitigate security dependency from the US and leverage its power in other domains, such as trade, to preserve the rules-based order in which it strives.
