Read Inspiring Stories
Choose books about people (real or fictional) who made a difference. Ask your child what actions the characters took and how they helped others.
Talk About Community
Discuss ways your child can help at home, school, or in the neighborhood. Encourage them to write or draw about their ideas.
Use Descriptive Language
When writing or speaking, help your child use words that describe feelings, actions, and settings clearly and vividly.
Explore Poetry
Read poems about kindness, courage, or change. Try writing a short poem together about how your child can make a difference.
Create a Multimodal Message
Let your child make a poster, video, or digital slideshow about a cause they care about. Include drawings, facts, and a message of encouragement.
Research a Role Model
Choose a person who made a positive impact (e.g., a historical figure, local leader, or family member). Help your child find information and present it in their own words.
Celebrate Small Acts
Recognize and praise your child’s efforts to help others—whether it’s sharing, cleaning up, or being kind. Connect these actions to the unit’s theme.
