Hermansen has broad experience teaching at all leves in higher education (bachelor, master, PhD, academic development courses). She has supervised 11 master's students, 9 PhD students and two candidates for promotion to Associate Professor (førstelektor).
She has engaged in a variety of pedagogical development work and evaluation processes, and served as an internal and external examiner at a range of higher education institutions.

Since 2013, I have provided a number of academic presentations and seminars for academic staff related to teaching, learning and quality development in higher education. Topics include student active learning, formative and summative assessment, supervision at master's and doctoral level, coherence in professional education, problem-based learning, and the use of ICT in teaching and learning.
