I am a generation 1.5 Korean American educator who had the privilege of growing up in many different places in Korea and America. I have been teaching reading and writing to a diverse group of students, from middle school to college, for more than 10 years.
Originally from South Korea, I moved from El Paso, Texas, to Ridgewood, New Jersey, and then finally to sunny California. I attended high school in Cupertino, and moved to Berkeley and San Francisco to finish my education. Currently, I work and reside in Sunnyvale. One of the reasons that inspired me to dive into education was my own experience as an English learner. As a bilingual instructor (English and Korean), I am deeply sensitive and aware of the issues many nonnative speakers face in the American education system.
Combined with my years of experience and expertise in education sector, my ultimate goal as an instructor is to help transform the lives of students.
