Pisa can be conveniently reached by plane and/or train.
Pisa airport
The simplest and fastest way to get to Pisa. The airport is not far away from the city center, which can be easily reached on foot (20 minutes walk to Pisa central train station), by public transport (6 minutes to Pisa central station with PisaMover) or by taxi (about €10-15 fare).
Other Italian airports
Landing in other major Italian airports (Milan, Rome, Florence, Bologna, Turin, Venice) would require reaching the town center to get a train to Pisa. The connection from and to Florence is the fastest (about one hour by train), while from and to other major cities it might be much slower according to distance (traveling from and to Milan and Rome takes about 3 hours).

The most suitable way to travel to Pisa. Several train routes connect Pisa with the major Italian cities. Trainitalia website provides detailed information about train schedules and fares.
