Travel Grants for Early-Career Researchers
With the financial support of the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) and the European Crystallographic Association (ECA), a limited number of travel grants will be available to early-career researchers who wish to participate in the 12th HeCrA Conference and its satellite workshops and who do not have access to sufficient other sources of financial support.
Successful applicants may receive:
up to €100 if travelling from within Greece; or
up to €300 if travelling from another European country.
The grants may be used to partially cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses.
To be eligible, applicants must have completed their conference registration and submitted an abstract.
Applicants should then send an email to hecra2016@gmail.com with the subject line: "12th HeCrA Conference, October 2026 – Funding Request"
The email should include:
the applicant's current career stage, such as MSc student, PhD candidate, or postdoctoral researcher;
institutional affiliation and country of residence;
the satellite workshop they intend to attend;
a brief description of their scientific interests and current research project;
a short explanation of their need for financial support;
confirmation that they do not have access to sufficient other funding to cover their participation.
Applications will be evaluated based on eligibility, relevance to the conference and workshops, and the availability of funds. Submission of an application does not guarantee that financial support will be awarded.
