When love leads, unity follows. In community we find strength. Through Jesus, we find purpose. With faith, we rise together.
When Survival Mode Becomes the Norm: Why Families Are Falling Apart and How We Rise Again
We’re living in a world where families love each other deeply, yet feel more disconnected than ever. Not because they don’t care. Not because they don’t want to be present. But because survival mode has become the default setting for so many homes. Parents are working nonstop just to keep the lights on and groceries in the fridge. Bills rise, stress rises, and time with the people who matter most slips through the cracks. Kids feel it. Teens feel it. Entire families feel it. And somewhere along the way, the joy of living turned into the pressure of surviving.
The Silent Crisis Inside Our Homes
Kids today are growing up in a world that moves too fast and demands too much. They’re surrounded by screens, noise, and constant stimulation but very little true connection.
• Kids are raising themselves through social media and video games.
• Teens are overwhelmed, anxious, and searching for identity in all the wrong places.
• Parents are exhausted, stretched thin, and carrying financial burdens that leave little room for rest or presence.
• Grandparents, who once helped raise the next generation, are still working because they can’t afford to retire.
Families love each other but love alone can’t fix a system that’s draining everyone dry. This isn’t the life we were created for. What If There’s Another Way? What if families didn’t have to choose between paying bills and being present? What if parents could work from home, build income together, and actually see their children grow? What if kids learned real‑world skills, discovered their passions early, and grew up believing they could create their own future?
Imagine a home where:
• Parents and kids work together instead of living separate, stressed-out lives
• Families build multiple streams of income that support their dreams
• Kids learn entrepreneurship, creativity, and confidence
• Teens don’t need to escape into partying or addiction because they feel purposeful and connected
• Healthy food is affordable
• Time together is normal
• Peace replaces chaos
• Love and unity become the foundation again
This isn’t a fantasy. It’s a choice. A shift. A new way of living that starts with one decision. We will not live in survival mode anymore.
Families Can Rise Together
When families work together, everything changes. Kids learn responsibility, creativity, and leadership. Parents feel supported instead of overwhelmed. Grandparents can step back into their rightful place—guiding, loving, and enjoying their family instead of clocking into another shift. And the ripple effect is powerful:
• Health improves
• Stress decreases
• Addiction rates drop
• Kids stop searching for belonging in dangerous places
• Teens develop a growth mindset instead of a survival mindset
• Homes become peaceful, structured, and full of purpose
This is what happens when families stop surviving and start building. A New Generation of Purpose begins. Kids are not meant to be entertained into silence. They’re meant to be guided, taught, and empowered. When children discover what they love—and parents have the time and financial freedom to support it everything shifts. A child who loves art can pursue it. A teen who loves mechanics can learn hands-on. A kid who loves gardening can grow food that nourishes the whole family. A family that works together becomes stronger, healthier, and more united. This is how we break cycles. This is how we restore homes. This is how we create Heaven on Earth—one family at a time. The Vision Moving Forward We still need doctors, mechanics, teachers, builders, and dreamers. But we also need families who are financially stable, emotionally grounded, spiritually connected, and present. We need homes where:
• Kids feel safe
• Parents feel supported
• Grandparents feel valued
• Everyone feels connected
This is the future we’re building. This is the movement we’re starting. This is the restoration our world is hungry for. And it begins with families choosing to rise—together.
There’s no sugarcoating it: our world is in chaos. From broken homes to broken systems, everywhere we look, we see families barely surviving, youth losing their way, and communities falling apart. Many parents today grew up in survival mode, carrying trauma from their own upbringings. Now, they’re raising children born straight into crisis, an era marked by division, inflation, addiction, corruption, and spiritual confusion.
The truth is that those born into crisis are also the ones anointed to bring the solution.
There is a powerful calling on this next generation’s life. But they cannot step into it without us parents, mentors, teachers, and leaders pouring into them with love, guidance, and hope. We cannot keep repeating what our parents did just because "that’s how it was back then." The world has changed, and clearly, repeating the past isn’t fixing the present. If anything, it's keeping the crisis cycle going.
Families are drowning. Inflation has driven the cost of living so high that even two working parents can barely make ends meet. In the rush to survive, many parents are working long hours, leaving kids at home on screens, watching siblings, or fending for themselves emotionally and spiritually.
Our food systems are another tragedy. The cheapest options are filled with preservatives, toxins, and chemicals that slowly break down the body and mind. Meanwhile, fresh produce and clean, nourishing foods are priced like luxury items. It's a cruel truth that poison is cheaper than health. The problem is the poison within our foods are linked to many health conditions and behavioral diagnoses which are treated with pharmaceuticals that cause more issues and help the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. This is a leading cause in oppression.
Our children are checking out, not because they’re lazy, but because they’re overwhelmed and uninterested. Common Core and rigid systems are turning learning into frustration. Their God-given talents are often ignored in favor of standardized expectations. Kids with unique learning needs are placed on IEPs and shuffled through school, never truly seen, heard, or supported.
Behavioral issues are escalating. Bullying is everywhere online and in person. Mental health diagnoses are at an all-time high, and the stigma surrounding it keeps many from asking for help. Children are suffering silently. Parents are breaking silently. And teachers, who are underpaid and overwhelmed, are burning out with nowhere to turn.
Many teens today are turning to vaping, drugs, and alcohol as a form of escape, but these substances wreak havoc on developing brains. During adolescence, the brain is still forming critical pathways for decision-making, impulse control, and emotional regulation. Substances like nicotine, THC, and alcohol impair these functions, leading to long-term cognitive damage, emotional instability, and increased risk of addiction and depression.
They're not trying to be rebellious, they're crying out for relief, and no one is listening.
Law enforcement, social workers, and government officials are drowning in high need. They're having to pick and choose which emergencies to handle and which to ignore. And when power falls into the wrong hands or favors the familiar, corruption and oppression follow. Justice becomes biased. Voices are silenced. Cycles continue.
So yes; the United States is in crisis.
But the good news is that it doesn't have to stay that way.
There was a time, not so long ago when neighbors helped neighbors. One family gardened, another would be in charge of canned goods. Someone baked bread, someone raised chickens. People shared what they had and helped each other raise children. Communities were built on compassion, love, unity, and faith.
We can bring that back. Not by relying on broken systems, but by becoming the community we long for.
We need to start healing. To forgive. To release the trauma that has ruled our homes and hearts for too long. We must break financial barriers, emotional strongholds, and cultural divisions. It’s time to work together, help one another, and teach our children what love in action truly looks like.
This generation is not lost. They are leaders in the making. But they need to be seen, known, guided, and loved. They need us to stop surviving and start thriving together.
Let’s build communities where families flourish. Where children grow in safe, faith-filled spaces. Where trauma is healed, burdens are shared, and every person knows they belong.
It won’t be easy, but it’s possible. And it starts with us.
Through the Storms: Walking in the Authority of Christ
Life is full of storms. Some hit unexpectedly, others linger longer than we imagined. But through them all, one truth remains unshaken: God is with us.
Jesus Himself was no stranger to storms. He walked through rejection, betrayal, pain, temptation, suffering, and even death. But through every storm He faced, He did not waver. He conquered them.
Why? So that we could walk in victory and not be held captive by the winds of this world.
“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.”
-Isaiah 53:3
Jesus came not only to save us but to show us how to live. He wept. He cried. He prayed. He overcame. And He gave us that same power and authority to do the same.
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
-John 16:33
At the cross, Jesus took everything humanity was never meant to carry; shame, sin, guilt, death, separation from God and nailed it there.
He tore the veil that once separated us from God’s presence and gave us access to a life filled with His Spirit.
“And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, He gave up His spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”
- Matthew 27:50–51
Now, there is no more separation. God is not far away. He is in us, working through us.
We are His vessels, empowered by His Spirit, and equipped to stand strong through any storm.
“Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?”
-1 Corinthians 3:16
So the next time you find yourself in a storm whether emotional, spiritual, or physical, remember that Jesus walked through His storms so you could walk through yours with authority.
He taught us how to face temptation with truth, how to fight battles with prayer, how to endure with faith, and how to rise in victory. He handed us the keys to the Kingdom.
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
-Luke 10:19
You are not powerless.
You are not alone.
You are a child of God, filled with His Spirit, clothed in His righteousness, and armed with His Word.
Claim it.
Walk in it.
Believe it.
Jesus didn’t just save us from the storm, He empowered us to speak to it.
“Peace, be still.” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
-Mark 4:39
You have the Power and Authority to Calm any Storm!!
Three words. Spoken from the mouth of Jesus. Three words that changed everything.
“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished.’ Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.”-John 19:30
These were not words of defeat, but a cry of victory. “It is finished” wasn’t about the end of Jesus' life, it was about the completion of His mission. These words shook heaven and earth. The old was gone. Something new had just begun.
The Old Covenant is Finished. Jesus’ death brought an end to the old covenant of the Law. The rituals, sacrifices, and laws of Moses could only cover sin temporarily. But Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, became the final sacrifice once and for all.
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”-Romans 10:4
He didn’t abolish the law, He fulfilled it (Matthew 5:17). Every prophecy, every shadow, every symbol in the Old Testament pointed to this moment.
The Veil Was Torn. At the very moment Jesus cried out, the veil in the temple separating man from the presence of God was torn in two from top to bottom.
“And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.”-Matthew 27:51
No more separation. No more barriers. We now have full access to the Father through Jesus Christ. We are not just followers of God, we are one with Him through the Son and the Holy Spirit.
“I in them and You in Me—so that they may be brought to complete unity.”-John 17:23
When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He wasn’t just referring to sin. He declared the end of death’s power. Death was defeated.
“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”-1 Corinthians 15:55
Jesus walked out of the grave in victory. And because of Him, we live as resurrected people. Death no longer has the final word.
Jesus didn’t just forgive sin, He disarmed evil and put it to shame. Every demonic power, every stronghold, every chain was broken. It Is Finished.
“Having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” - Colossians 2:15
In that moment, Jesus made a way for something brand new a life of freedom, unity, and love through the new covenant.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come!”-2 Corinthians 5:17
We are forgiven, redeemed, and deeply loved. There’s no more working for God’s love. No more striving for righteousness. No more fear of rejection. We belong to Him—forever.
“Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.”
- Romans 8:38–39
We now live in constant communion with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And through Christ, we are called to live in love and unity with one another as one body.
When storms come and doubts whisper lies, remember the power of the cross. The work is complete. You don’t need to earn what has already been given. Stand firm in His love. Rest in His grace. Walk boldly in the freedom Jesus purchased. It is finished means: You are not condemned, You are not forgotten, You are not separated, You are not alone. You are free. Whole. Chosen. Loved.
Let that truth echo through your heart every day.
Embracing God's Love and Purpose: You Are As Jesus Is
Can you imagine the heartbreak if someone told your children, or someone you love deeply, that you didn’t love them? The pain, the confusion, the devastation—how could they ever recover from hearing that? It’s unfathomable, right?
Now, think about this—how often do we tell ourselves, either consciously or subconsciously, that we aren’t worthy of love? That we’re not enough? That somehow, God doesn’t love us as He loves others? It’s devastating when we let those thoughts creep into our hearts, especially when the truth couldn’t be further from it.
We must remember that we are ALL God’s children, and He loves each of us equally, no matter what. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, where you’ve been, or what you think you’re lacking. God’s love is unconditional, limitless, and perfect. He loves YOU, exactly as you are.
God removes everything from our lives that was never meant for us. He clears out the harmful, the broken, and the burdens we carry that were never part of His plan for us. He makes space for what is truly meant for us—the things that will fulfill our purpose, our calling, and help us live the abundant life He’s promised.
The beautiful truth is this: Through Jesus Christ, God became what we are, so that we can become what He is. That means, you are as Jesus is—loved, whole, powerful, and full of potential. God sees you through the eyes of Jesus, and His love for you is unshakeable.
If you’ve ever struggled with self-worth or battled with feelings of inadequacy, know this: God sees you as His beloved child, worthy of every good thing He has in store for you. He has removed the chains of shame, guilt, and fear, and in their place, He has given you the fullness of His love and grace.
Life can be tough. We all face hardships, trials, and obstacles that shape who we are—our thoughts, our emotions, and even our actions. In a broken world full of pain and disappointment, it’s easy to let those circumstances influence how we see ourselves, others, and God. But the good news is, it doesn’t have to be this way.
God has given us a powerful tool: the ability to renew our minds. We can choose to take control of our thoughts and align them with His truth rather than being swept away by the chaos of the world. Why is this so important? Our thoughts shape our emotions, influence our physical health, and impact our mental health. Toxic thinking can lead to stress, chemical imbalances in the brain, and even illness. The good news is that we don’t have to stay stuck in those destructive thought patterns.
Just like an athlete trains their body, we must train our minds. The more we practice recognizing unhealthy thoughts, the more we can replace them with life-affirming beliefs that align with God’s Word. It’s not just about having a positive mindset—it's about transforming our minds to reflect the truth of who God says we are and what He has promised us. If you are feeling stuck join our Heaven On Earth group for prayers, love and support.
The Bible reminds us that we are made to be like Jesus in this world (1 John 4:17), and through Him, we can overcome negative thoughts, fear, bitterness, and toxic thinking. We are not prisoners to our past, our emotions, or our circumstances. By intentionally reshaping our thought patterns, we can experience transformation in every area of our lives.
Scriptures for Renewing Your Mind
Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
1 John 4:17: “As He is, so are we in this world.”
2 Corinthians 10:5: “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Romans 12:2, 1 John 4:17, and 2 Corinthians 10:5 all teach us about the power of our thoughts and how we can choose to think in ways that honor God. Romans 12:2 says that we shouldn’t let the world tell us how to think. We should let God change our minds so we can understand what He wants for our lives. 1 John 4:17 reminds us that, because of Jesus, we are like Him in this world, and that means we have His strength to live the right way. Finally, 2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us we can control our thoughts and choose to focus on things that align with God’s truth, instead of letting bad or negative thoughts take over. When we choose to think like God wants us to, we can live in His peace and power!
You are a beautiful, intentional creation—a gift from God Himself. No matter what struggles you’ve faced, your identity isn’t defined by your past or the lies that may try to take root in your mind. You are made in God’s image (Psalm 139:14), and He calls you His beloved child.
The thoughts you allow to take root in your heart shape your life. This is why Romans 12:2 urges us to renew our minds daily. When we focus on God’s truth, love, and purpose, we begin to live in freedom. We start to think, speak, and act with power—not controlled by fear or negativity.
Remember, your mind is powerful. With Christ’s help, you can reshape your thoughts and transform your life. Stay rooted in His truth, and let His promises guide you every single day. You were created by a perfect, loving God—and you have a divine purpose. 🙌
Christ is not the answer to brokenness. The answer is Christ in you and Christ through you. Before Christ, God was unseen, but through Him, we see the fullness of God. You are as Jesus is!! The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you meaning you carry His power, His authority, and His peace wherever you go.
God is always willing and able to heal, restore, and bring peace. You are adopted into His family, and nothing you do or don’t do can change that. His love for you is unshakable. You are a co-heir with Christ, meaning you inherited everything He has received from the Father: Eternal life, God’s Kingdom, Spiritual blessings, Victory over sin, Power and authority, Purpose and calling, and Glory with Christ!!
Yes, there may be earthly consequences for your choices, but nothing can separate you from the love of God. There is nothing you can do to make Him love you any more or any less. God’s love is unwavering and unconditional. You are loved, chosen, empowered, and blessed beyond measure. Walk boldly in who you already are in Christ: You are a child of God, fully equipped to live out His purpose!
Unfortunately, our world often falls into the trap of judgment, criticism, and quick assumptions. People who are suffering are often met with hard hearts, a lack of understanding, and little empathy. But as the Bible teaches us, we should be quick to listen and slow to speak. Our culture, however, has adopted the opposite—hardening our hearts and becoming quick to judge. This way of thinking leads people further away from the true support and healing we all need.
We live in a world that’s wired for effort and reward. When we work hard, but see no tangible results, depression is often the result. When we experience pleasure without effort, it can easily lead to addiction—a reward without purpose, satisfaction, or fulfillment. Both depression and addiction steer us away from the life we were truly meant to live, leaving us empty and disconnected from our divine calling.
But here’s the truth—there is always hope.
You have a divine purpose. It’s a calling from God. The emptiness you may feel, the dissatisfaction you experience, is likely because you aren’t aligned with the unique purpose God designed just for you. No amount of success, wealth, or pleasure will ever fill that void if you aren’t living according to the plan God set for you.
God created us to thrive in community, accomplishment, and meaningful work. The chemicals in our brain; dopamine and serotonin, are designed to push us toward healthy goals, relationships, and the joy that comes from living out our divine purpose. When we fail to live in alignment with that purpose, we start seeking fulfillment from the world around us. This causes people to fall into worldly temptations, greed, and fleeting pleasures that deliver short-term hits of dopamine and serotonin, but ultimately leave an empty feeling.
The key to overcoming depression and addiction is not found in success or material gain, but in the pursuit of your divine calling. When we fully express the person God created us to be, we find peace, purpose, and fulfillment. Depression or addiction may be the result of not living authentically and not expressing who God called us to be.
We also must be cautious of comparison. In God’s eyes, we are all equal. We are not meant to compare ourselves to others or feel superior or inferior. Each of us is uniquely designed with a role to play in the grand scheme of His Kingdom. When we focus on our divine purpose and remain faithful to our path, we naturally influence others in their own spheres. In this way, we expand the Kingdom of God even greater, sharing His love and grace with the world.
If you are struggling with depression or addiction, I want you to know—your life is precious. You matter. God has a beautiful plan for you, and the challenges you are facing do not define who you are. They are simply part of your story, but they are not the end of your story.
You have a responsibility to yourself and those you love to seek help, to reach out, and to lean into the purpose God has set for you. Do not fall into the trap of comparison or allow the enemy’s lies to make you believe you don't matter. You are vital. You are a part of God’s great design. Your story is important, and you are not alone in this journey.
If you are feeling hopeless or overwhelmed, or if you’re struggling with addiction, please remember: there is a way out. You don’t have to walk this path alone. God loves you deeply, and there is healing, help, and hope available to you.
Let’s lift each other up. Let’s be a light in the darkness, offering compassion, kindness, and understanding. We are called to bring the culture of Heaven to earth—into our homes, our hearts, and our communities.
You are loved. You are needed. You have a purpose. Don’t give up on the beautiful life God has planned for you. Reach out, speak up, and remember, you are never alone in this fight.
If you need help, don’t hesitate to reach out. There is always someone ready to walk alongside you on this journey of healing and purpose. Together, we can break free from the chains of depression and addiction, and step boldly into the life that God has designed for us all.
