Hey there! I'm Heaven, a labor doula (and birth photographer in training) in the Southern KY area, committed to giving mothers the birthing experience they deserve. Currently, I'm working on my birth doula certification and I'm a proud student of Childbirth International. I'm passionate about inclusivity in any birthing space, and I'm firm in my belief that families of all varieties deserve an informed, welcoming hand in their corner.
In any pregnancy journey, doulas can have many benefits, in and out of the labor room. They have been shown to reduce risks of cesarean sections, as well as the risk of postpartum depression and anxiety. They are a personal tool- a helping hand- to aid you in making informed decisions, and to provide physical, emotional, and informational support. Feel free to check out any of my social medias, linked below, for a more in-depth answer to this question.
I understand inviting someone into such an intimate and personal space can be scary, to say the least. I try to be as transparent as I can with my clients, to ensure they don't feel like they're welcoming a stranger into their birth. I always say my goal is to become your "birth bestie!"
That being said- I eat, sleep, and breathe birth. I'm the proud mama of a beautiful little girl, who you might meet sometime as she tags along to prenatal appointments with me on occasion! I also have a super big knack for baby names- so in the little free time I have, you can usually catch me studying or baby name trends. I'm also a musician, and while my life has moved on from me practicing every day, I'm always happy to pick up a flute, tuba, or piano when I get the chance!
My goal as a doula is to service those who may feel like they don't need or want one. Usually, the biggest inhibitor is price. However, I do NOT want money to be what stops you from getting the birth experience you deserve. Text BIRTH to (615) 461-0036 to discuss pricing information.
