Here is what I like to See: This is just some suggestions. Do what works best for you and your family.
Core Subject Work Samples: can be digital, physical or through an online login. See the Facebook page : WV Hope Scholarship Portfolio Reviewers for some examples.
3-6 Samples each:
Reading
Language Arts
Math
Science
Social Studies
Progress Tracking:
Grades or self-created report cards
Completed checklists
Learning Logs or Weekly Summaries
Pre-test/ Post-test comparisons
Curriculum Development:
Names of textbooks or programs
Names of online learning platforms
Educational apps or Courses
Attendance/Instruction Time
Calendar showing school days
Hours spent on activities
Daily or Weekly Schedule
Project and Hands On Learning
Pictures of Science Experiments or activities
Art or STEM projects
List ofField trips
Presentations or posters
list of books read
List of Science experiments
For younger grades, most things should be hands on-- just take pictures throughout the school year
Tips:
These are just ideas. Keep it simple and organized (binder or digital folder or online logins)
Label things subject and date
Just include representative samples (3-8 per subject)
Show progress over time, not perfect work. Really anything works as long as progress has been made.
