Hello!

My name is Heather Hansen and I’m a Cognitive Psychologist. I'm passionate about researching Misophonia, a disorder of decreased tolerance to specific sounds. In my research, I use behavioral, physiological, and neuroimaging methods to better understand this nuanced and perplexing experience.

A California native, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Psychobiology at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2016. I then earned my Master's in Psychology in 2019 and my Doctorate in Psychology in 2023 at The Ohio State University, working with Dr. Andrew Leber of the Cognitive Control Lab and Dr. Zeynep Saygin of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab. I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University, working in the lab of Dr. Christine Tardif.

I am currently on the job market for a full-time assistant professor position. If you're interested in chatting, shoot me a message!
