Hello! My name is Karie, and I am so glad you are here.
I created HeARTworks from a deep desire to bring people together through creativity, connection, and faith. I have spent over 20 years teaching and working with both children and adults, using art as a way to encourage, guide, and create meaningful experiences. Through my background in education, creative work, and ministry, I have seen how powerful it can be when people are given a space to slow down, express themselves, and feel supported. As I look toward the next season of my life, HeARTworks is becoming a reflection of that journey, a space where my passion for teaching, creating, and serving through faith all come together with intention.
As an artist, I am drawn to watercolor, hand-built pottery, fiber arts, printmaking, and collage, always following where creativity leads and continuing to learn along the way. As an educator, I offer opportunities for others to explore creativity through small group classes, one-on-one lessons, community workshops, and hands-on experiences like paint-your-own pottery and seasonal art gatherings. At the heart of HeARTworks is also a creative arts ministry, where I use small, hand-carved block prints as a way to pray for and support missionaries and the people they serve. Each offering is designed to create a space where people feel welcomed, inspired, and encouraged, allowing creativity to become a pathway for connection, growth, and faith.
