My name is Steve Kittredge. I'm the owner/operator of Heartwood Sawmill and Lumber. We are located in Carroll County, Georgia near the town of Carrollton.

I am a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After working in the oil field for 31 years I retired and bought a Wood-Mizer sawmill to make my own lumber from beetle killed trees.

I have always been a woodworker and loved quartersawn oak. Owning a sawmill allows me to have beautiful wood at a fraction of the cost of buying it in the store.

Along the way I have been able to get quite a few trees donated that would otherwise be in the landfill or in the fireplace. From these trees I have a good selection of air dried lumber.

In 2020 during the pandemic I built a solar kiln. I am now working on drying lumber to sell.
