The item you receive will be 100% hand crafted. This is a labor of love, skill and time.
Yes. Brush collection is the best option. Chest, neck and center of the back have the softest fur. Belly and rear end fur is rougher and dirtier. Please avoid fur that is soiled or matted.
Shavings could make your item prickly. Certain dog breeds like poodles have hair. Those clippings are fine.
Almost any. Very short fur will be blended with high quality wool for stability. Fur between 1" and 3" is the best.
Some dog breeds like boxers, dalmatians and pit bulls have no undercoat and very very short hair. Unfortunately, these do not spin well and when blended with wool are very touch unfriendly .
No. Loose animal fur will mat and felt. If that happens it can not be spun into yarn. I will wash all fur before starting. Removing grass, laves and other vegetable matter would be appreciated.
Fur with excessive foreign material may incur an extra charge for removal or be unworkable. If it is unworkable the fur and payment will be returned to you minus shipping and a $25 assessment fee.
If you send more than the minimum 1/2 ounce of fur the excess will be used to stuff the heart. If there is still remaining fur it will be returned with your finished item.
If you would like additional finished yarn it will be spun in the same 2 ply worsted medium wight at $25 an ounce and only by prior arrangement.
Other yarn weights and ply style can be created for a variety of purposes. Those must be discussed and billed per job prior to beginning a project.
You will need to collect more fur. Plan on 1/2 ounce for either size and for each heart. Discounts only apply when shipping to the same address
