This interactive discussion series centers around developing a reflective, compassionate and caring practice for communicating with oneself and others. As Indira Gahndi says, "When you make peace within yourself, you make peace in the world." By taking this time for yourself, you will receive the benefit as well as creating a ripple of peace out into your community and the world. In addition, tools provided bring a fresh perspective which improves relationships at home and at the office. I invite you to take time for Self, open your heart, and feel the benefits of this practice. In person attendees will participate in guided practice with me, while online participants will participate in guided practice with Nonviolent Communication Practitioner and Awesome Human, Leticia Adams. With Love & In Service, Talia
*5pm Pacific, 8pm Eastern via Zoom

"Just where you are. That's the place to start."- Pema Chodrin
A Problem.
Coming to the end of a busy social summer, are you feeling more connected? Or exhausted from the busyness? Social interactions aren't quite feeding us as they did pre-pandemic. Our social fabric has been frayed. If you're like me, you may still feel snug in the post-pandemic bubble you've created (if it ain't broke...) and stretching beyond it makes you so uncomfortable you run through excuses to bow out. You may be an extrovert and like to socialize but there seems to be undue pressure and intensity like going on a blind date. So even though there has been plenty of opportunity to connect in social gatherings recently, we just aren't feeling the connection like we used to. Is this true for you?
Those of us that live consciously are at an inflection point, a Crisis of Spirit. This is a time to decide to tune in with self, to be at peace and in cooperation with our beliefs no matter what or allow outside situations to determine our mood, our vibration, our impact in the world. By allowing outer distractions to control our inner narrative we disconnect from nature, from our true nature, which hinders our power and contribution. We are at odds with ourselves. This disconnection opens the door to conflict with our family and neighbors as well. Currently, conflict resolution is one of the top searched topics.
If you're feeling disconnected, uncomfortable or in conflict, you're not alone.
All Generations are affected:
"Experts claim that Gen Z may have to suffer the consequences of social distancing and cessation of work for the rest of their lives, that on top of economic difficulties they also face a unique experience of social disintegration. " The Guardian
"Social isolation has increased across the board. Socially adept in very different ways, Millenials and Gen X are choosing to stay home and limit interaction or engage with others solely online." NIH Study
A 2024 CU Boulder Study found that the pandemic fundamentally altered neighborhoods, communities and everyday routines among aging Americans, and these changes have long-term consequences for their physical, mental, social and cognitive health.
"If we learn to open our hearts, anyone, including the people that drive us crazy, can be our teacher." Pema Chodrin
A Solution.
This series is designed to be a respite. A reflective, connective, nurturing experience where you will reconnect with yourself and others in a new way. The foundation of this Series is Nonviolent Communication which is an approach to enhanced communication, understanding, and connection based on the principles of nonviolence and humanistic psychology. NVC, created by Marshall Rosenberg, aims to increase empathy and understanding and to improve the overall quality of life.
These teachings coupled with Talia's expertise in Transformational Leadership, Facilitation, and Improv allow you to choose to satisfy your own needs in order to be an agent of peace in the world. It’s a conscious choice to practice Loving, Effective, Transformative Communication with your Self and Others. Choosing to live by principles of Curiosity, Cooperation, Compassion rather than conflict, comparison and collision take conscious effort. By making a conscious choice we stand in our power allowing our talents, skills, and abilities to shine and making a positive impact (ripple) in the world.
This series builds on foundational principles reviewed in the introductory session. Each session is carefully crafted and builds a framework for practice . Therefore, it is best to attend all of the sessions to gain the most benefit. However, participants will not be turned away from any single session.
While the local event is held at The Third Street Center in Carbondale, in order to reach a wider audience and create a larger impact, each session will be live-streamed so that participants outside the Roaring Fork Valley can receive the benefit as well.
"The way we communicate with others and ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our life." -Tony Robbins
