Ava Schlussel is a senior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Disabilities in Society. She plans to pursue a career as a pediatric speech-language pathologist. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, going on nature walks, and spending time with friends and family. Ava has been involved with Hearoes for Hearing for the past three years and is extremely excited to serve as this year’s Director!
Georgia Reinhard is a Junior Majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a Minor in Deaf and Hearing Sciences. She plans to pursue a career as a medical speech-language pathologist. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, going to the beach, and spending time with her friends. This is Georgia’s first year being involved with Hearoes for hearing and is very excited to serve as this year’s Assistant Director!
Bianca Macaluso is a sophomore majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She plans to pursue a career as an audiologist. Outside of class, she enjoys scrapbooking, volunteering, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is super excited to serve as sponsorship chair for Hearoes this year!
Jaime Willis is a senior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She plans to pursue a career as a medical speech language pathologist, with specialities in neurodegenerative diseases and stroke patients. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, dancing, going to the beach, and playing word games! This is Jaime’s second year on the Hearoes for Hearing board as a Promotions chair. She is excited to continue to serve this organization and make an impact through promotions!
Alexandra Eary is a sophomore double-majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and English with a minor in Deaf and Hearing Sciences. She plans to pursue a career as a pediatric speech-language pathologist, working in the school setting. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the springs of Gainesville, reading, and shopping for vinyls and CDs. This is Alexandra’s first year on the Hearoes for Hearing board, and she is thrilled to raise awareness for this organization!
Ivana Jordan is a senior double majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Spanish. She aspires to become a medical speech-language pathologist specializing in voice and swallowing disorders. Ivana is a research assistant in Dr. Charles Ellis’ Communication Equity and Outcomes Lab and she also volunteers and shadows at Divine Speech and Swallowing Solutions with Ellie Zamora, CCC-SLP, to gain valuable clinical experience. As a proud Puerto Rican, Ivana is passionate about serving Spanish-speaking and Latin American communities by helping bridge language and cultural gaps in healthcare. Outside of academics, Ivana enjoys climbing, creating ceramics, and exploring new coffee shops.
Maya Lopez is a junior majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a double minor in Education Studies and Disabilities in Society. She plans to pursue a career as a pediatric speech-language pathologist, with an emphasis on bilingual care. Outside of NSSLHA, she is involved with the Member Leadership Program of the Hispanic Student Association, UF Mindfulness Student Advisory Board, and is a member of Dr. DiFino’s Bilingual Language Access and Outcomes (BLAO) Lab. In her free time she enjoys reading, exploring art museums, and going on new adventures with friends. This is Maya’s first year on the Hearoes Board. As Amigos Co-chair, she is excited to build cross-cultural friendships and guide the program toward another impactful year!
