Missouri Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Amber Spotten, LPC, NCC
It is said that life is more about the journey rather than the destination. My goal is to help teens and adults navigate life’s toughest challenges and transitions. With nearly 20 years of experience balancing a military career with a civilian mental health counseling and sexual assault advocacy focused career, I understand what it means to carry a heavy load. Whether you are dealing with past trauma, feeling "stuck," or looking for a professional who truly understands the unique culture of service, I am here to join and walk alongside you on your journey.
While my background is rooted in practical skills like CBT and DBT, I have expanded my practice to include EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS). This allows us to move beyond just talking about problems; we work together to heal the deeper, underlying patterns that keep you from moving forward and being the best version of yourself. I have worked with young children to adults with a variety of diagnoses in home, community, correctional, school, inpatient, and outpatient settings. This diverse experience means no challenge is too big or too small for us to tackle together.
I primarily provide telehealth sessions with select in-person availability. I currently operate as an out-of-network provider (private pay).
Reach out for a free consultation to see if our connection feels right to support you in revitalizing and enriching your journey.

I am particularly passionate about working with LGBTQ+ populations, striving to create an affirming and inclusive space where all clients can explore their authentic selves. My practice is guided by core values of family, trust, care, education, kindness, and loyalty. I envision creating a space where every client feels genuinely cared for. And supportive environment that encourages growth, learning, and self-discovery. I believe that through dedicated partnership and compassionate guidance, every interaction can contribute to greater personal fulfillment and help individuals reach their full potential.
Erin O'Bryan, BA, CMHC Intern
I am a second-year Master's student and Missouri Baptist University and currently studying to become a licensed counselor.
I have experience with previous occupations that included working with the juvenile courts and family courts, victim advocacy, law enforcement and am currently working in a local school district working with children of 4th-12th grade learn various coping skills.
I have a lot of experience dealing with clients that have had serious trauma, mostly teenagers with childhood trauma. My approach is more of a client-centered approach working on building a safe and trusting environment for clients to share their experiences and talk about how they feel and incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to re frame negative thoughts. I am a certified yoga instructor and believe in the mind/body connection and like to incorporate grounding techniques for the nervous system such as breathing and meditations with clients helping to regulate emotions and the nervous system. By focusing on a holistic approach and creating a trusting and safe environment I believe it provides a positive environment for the client to start their own journey of self-discovery and achieve any goals that they seek to accomplish while having support to achieve those goals in the process.
