This site is all about the best ways of dieting in a healthy, sustainable way that not only promotes weight loss but also good health and the maintenance of a healthy weight once the excess has been taken care of.

I'm Arnold and I'm a keen health and fitness enthusiast who cares a lot about what I eat and drink. I do that because I care about my body and I realize that as long as I do the best I can to look after it, it will repay me with a healthy, active and longer life than if I didn't.

What's Wrong with Unhealthy Eating?

I know plenty of people that have ignored all the obvious signs about eating a poor diet made up of junk processed foods and drinking sugary soda drinks. The results are as plain as the nose on your face.

They are overweight, lethargic and tired all the time and they get sick a lot.

The worst part is that I know what's in store for them in the future if they don't change and wise up to what they're doing to their bodies through the bad choices they are making over what they eat and drink. But they won't listen to me because I'm not a doctor!

You know, most doctors know very little about diet and nutrition and how food really does affect a person's health. Why on earth so many people rely on their doctors to fix their health problems when things go bad just amazes me.

I'll give you an example.

Several years ago, before I was so acutely conscious of diet and its relation to health, I was getting a lot of aches and pains that I felt were unnatural for my young(ish) age of around 40. I asked my doctor for advise and he told me I had the early stages of arthritis and there was no cure. Take these pills and come back in a month.

I went away disheartened and feeling totally let down. Needless to say, because I'm so against taking any kinds of drugs or pills, I didn't even bother getting my prescription filled at the pharmacist.

We Are What We Eat

I decided to do my own research. I discovered my problems were down to the fact I was still eating a lot of dairy and red meat.

I dropped those two things from my diet and started drinking more water every day. I also learned about detoxing the liver by drinking lemon water each morning on an empty stomach and also taking apple cider vinegar.

Within 3 months the aches and pains had gone.

That's one point to me (the layman) and zero points to my doctor (the so-called expert).

These days, I don't visit my doctor for anything. I don't need to because I simply never get sick!

I learned that we are what we eat and that's a little mantra I never get tired of hearing because it is so true.

Disclaimer: Now, I'm not in the business of giving anybody any medical advise because I'm not a medical expert. But I feel that I am qualified enough to share my own knowledge and experience that I have acquired over the years on what is healthy to eat and what is not, because I live that way.

You may take my opinions and ideas on board and try them if you want. They certainly won't do you any harm.

If you still believe that if it says it's healthy on the packet, it really is, you're in for a rude awakening from me. I don't believe a darn thing any food manufacturer claims about their "product" because as far as I am concerned, what is on sale in stores in packets, cans or jars that is marketed as "food" is not really "food". I believe they're just "products" designed to make money for a commercial business.

I stopped eating "products" a lot of years ago and I am not about to start again any time soon, no matter what the makers claim they are. You might do yourself some measure of good to do the same.
