WATER RESEARCH SPRING WORKSHOP 2025
Objectives and CoE themes addressed:
· Enhance public awareness of the research in water science, we are going to offer Water Research Spring Workshop 2025 for high school students in CNY.
When: Friday - Sunday, May 16 - 18, 2025 (Friday is an optional field trip)
Where: Jahn Laboratory (230, 232, 234), Walters Hall (104), Baker Laboratory (141) at SUNY ESF
Eligible participants: 9-12th grade high school students
Program includes:
1. The series of lectures by professors.
2. Basic lab safety training
3. Lab & Pilot Plant tour at ESF & Field trip (optional)
4. Perform research projects paired with graduate/undergraduate students
5. Research presentations

Field Trip
This program is supported by the NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions at Clarkson University and SUNY ESF (www.healthywaters.org). The Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions (HWS) is co-led by Clarkson University and SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry and delivers synergistic problem-solving on the wide range of water issues impacting New York State and beyond. Leveraging collaboration across academia, industry, government, and stakeholders, our mission is to generate solutions that help protect and improve waters for sustainable natural environments, healthy populations, resilient communities, and sound economies.
In 2019 New York State designated Clarkson University and SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry (ESF) to co-lead the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Healthy Water Solutions. Its mission is to generate solutions that help to protect and improve waters for sustainable natural environments, healthy populations, resilient communities and sound economies.
NYS Centers of Excellence are funded by the New York State Department of Economic Development’s Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation (NYSTAR) to foster collaboration between the academic research community and the business sector to develop and commercialize new products and technologies, to promote critical private sector investment in emerging high-technology fields in New York State, and to create and expand technology-related businesses and employment.
